It wasn't often I felt bored enough to, but tonight I decided I'd surf

It wasn't often I felt bored enough to, but tonight I decided I'd surf the web and look for that car insurance quote that I'd been promising myself I would for the last two years. It had been pointed out at work, where Ihave been ten years in the interesting career of website designing,by my ever so boring colleague that I was paying far two much for my fully comp insurance on my little fiesta and I should 'do something about it'. I was pleased he had the time to worry about paying a few quid too much on car insurance, it was the last of my worries, but then the same colleague had been one of the great masterminds behind the famous search engine google, a proud moment in our companies timeline, so I guess I shouldn't scoff at his advice really.

So here I was, cup of tea in hand, with nothing better to do, using that very same google to work my way through hundreds of car insurance companies promising fantastic policies. The results in front of me were why I always refused to surf the web, I mean don't get me wrong I love google and what it does for me, but everytime I choose to surf the web for absolutely any reason I find myself getting frustrated and angry with the amount of informationthrown at meto trawl through with everything and anythingyou try to research. Tonight was no exception.

After an hour or so of reading through various car insurance promises I decided I'd had enough and was just about to click of when I saw a flashing advert for a new social network site that I'd been hearing about, funnily enough from the same dull colleague that was going on at me to sort my insurance out. Intrigued I clicked on it, deciding it may be fun to join and look up a few people, including the guy at work, he never seemed to share much about his life and the fact he was on a social network site was probably the only thing I did know about him, so would be interesting to see what his profile is about admittedly.

I had a quick nosey through, saw some profiles of old friends, some hilarious, some disappointing, but all worth looking at. I saw the guy from works profile, which seemed to mainly go on about how he was adopted as a toddler, I'd never known that but couldn't see why he would want to announce that to the world either, he did, however, have some cute baby pictures of himself on there. I made a mental note to rib him about those on return to work after the weekend.

Over the weekend I popped onto the site a few times and found myself to be quite the little social network busy bee. I loved it, and talked to a load of people I hadn't talked to in years, it was good fun. On the Sunday when my mum visited for her dinner I showed her the site and some of my old friends that she knew, I also showed her the profile of the guy I worked with, she had heard about him from me before, so I thought she'd find his baby pictures amusing too. I was surprised however to see she didn't find them amusing as her face dropped.

'Mum' I said concerned 'Whats up?'

I was far from expecting the answer I received 'Love, he's your biological brother'
