I always was computer savvy. By the young age of twelve, I entered my first chat room. I think it was a chat room for teen girls to express their opinions and thoughts about life at a young age. That was the first memory of being interested in technology.By the age of fourteen, I hadmy very firstwebsite that I had made completely on my own with the help of online tutorials. I was so involved in the creation process that I would spend all night making my website perfect. I enjoyed sharing my creativity with the world and only the Internet could make that possible. I was so proud of that website, I think I showed everybody.

I'm very surprised by the fact that I did not grow up to be one of those website designers I sawworking hard in the labs at my college. Instead I became a mechanicalengineer, buthave always believed that being computer savvy had a connection to my interests in becoming an engineer. Little did I know, one of mymain projects my freshmen year in college was to create my own website about the engineering projects I completed throughout the year.That was easy as pie for me by that time!

I alsoused a lot of what I knew about computersto help me withnetworking and getting a job as an engineer. Trust me, networking goes a long way! I was not introduced to wifi until I went to college a few years ago. I didn't have any use for wifi until I got my first laptop during college. I thought it was so awesome and I think it spoiled me. It was niceto be able to work on my homework online anywhere wifi was available. I remember once I was networkingat a convention for engineers becauseit consisted of a three day job fair. I had to send my homework onlineone of myprofessors because I was inout of townat the time and the deadlinefor itwas soon due. The technology of wifi definitely saved me and my homework was sent on time.

Even now that I have graduated, I continue to go to a private chat room with only my closest friends to distress after a long day at work. As I look back over the years, I can really reflect and see how much being computer savvy helped me reach my dreams!
