Grandma was having the time of her life. Ever since she learned about the PC and internet access from Jon, she had got herself really involved in anything regarding computers or internet. Not to mention that she now has lots of friends from all over the world through the social networking sites. She is really a very busy lady indeed.

Grandma has recently completed a course on webdesign and is working on her own website. She plans to share recipes, health information and anything that would interest people of her age. She has ambitions to set up her own networking site as well. Grandma has bought a PC, and proudly showed it to us when we visited her. She was earlier unsure about the installation and setup; however a technician from the pc company came over to help her. She told us that the technician had given her a crash course in computer networking; and she is now able to set up a simple network.

Grandma goes on-line everyday to check on her emails as well as chat with her friends. Even when she goes shopping, she would visit an internet cafe and spend some time there. She is now thinking of buying a laptop which she can bring along with her everywhere. As long as there is internet access, she would be able to log on.

Last year Grandma went for vacation at a remote island, where there were no computers, not to mention internet access. She told us that she really missed her pc and her online friends badly. The next time she goes for a holiday, she would make sure that there are computers, internet cafes and internet access.

Jon often feels that most adults are very outdated or old-fashioned in their computer knowledge - they could not communicate with him regarding computer, internet or online issues. But he feels that Grandma is one of 'the guys'. He once said 'Grandma is real cool - my friends think that she's better than the guys'. Just because Grandma knows more about the latest on-line gaming sites! However it is true - Grandma has a very fulfilling life. She enjoys her life and looks forward to each day!
